Movement.
ARTISTIC STATEMENT
As a dancer and choreographer, Megan is drawn to the authenticity, physicality, and vulnerability of discovery that emerge through movement. Her work looks to the natural world as well as inward, to reveal truths carried by the mind and body.
Her choreography is both personal and collective: an invitation for dancers to discover freedom in their own bodies while building a shared language of curiosity, peace, and truth.
In March 2020, Megan began a daily movement practice: 15–30 minutes of improvisation without music, recorded and shared as open research. More than five years later, the practice continues to shape her choreography through improvisation, authenticity, discovery, and artistic voice.

The movement in this piece is rooted from the dynamic qualities of nature exploring the duality of set movement and improvisation. How freedom, spontaneity, familiarity, curiosity, can be found within each moment of life. Taking time to feel, and embody the natural world happening around us and experience it within us.

To define effort, to measure labor, to label worth. Through movement and relation to intensity and softness the dancers unveil that effort is found and grasped in many ways. The strongest moments are the ones unseen to the eye but felt in the mind and body. The intentional effort of letting go and simply being.

Inside the Process
The studio is a place to listen before deciding.
Megan begins with improvisation, questions, and shared research. Dancers are invited to locate freedom and authenticity in their own bodies, not to reproduce a fixed image, but to help discover what the work can become. Thoughts and emotions move through bodies, creating a process that is rigorous, genuine, and collaborative.
